About rf skin tightening
Radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening is a non-surgical treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to warm the deeper layers of the skin while the surface is kept at a comfortable, safe temperature. That controlled heat causes existing collagen fibres to contract, giving an immediate tightening effect, and prompts the skin to produce new collagen and elastin over the following weeks.
On the face it is used for the cheeks, jawline, chin, neck, under-eye area and forehead, where there is mild to moderate laxity. On the body it is used for areas such as the stomach, arms and thighs, and is often combined with cavitation as part of a contouring plan.
Most people find it comfortable and describe it as a warm massage. There are no needles and no anaesthetic, and most people go straight back to their day. Mild redness and warmth in the area are normal and fade within an hour or so.
Some tightening is visible immediately, but the main improvement develops over several weeks as new collagen forms. A course of four to six sessions is recommended, with maintenance sessions available afterwards. RF does not target pigment, so it suits most skin types and tones.
