About acne & blemish treatment
Breakouts, blackheads and congestion are among the most common reasons people come to see us. There is rarely a single fix, so we start with a skin consultation, look at what tends to trigger your breakouts, and build a plan that combines treatment in clinic with the right skincare at home.
Hydrafacial deep-cleanses and exfoliates, and its vortex extraction clears blackheads and congested pores without the redness of manual extraction. For blemish-prone skin we add the Glysal booster, which combines glycolic and salicylic acid to help keep pores clear.
AlumierMD chemical peels go a step further for oily, congested skin. Your practitioner chooses and layers the peel for your skin type, and peels are usually spaced two to four weeks apart as a short course, with your plan reviewed at each visit.
What you use at home matters as much as what we do in clinic. AlumierMD medical-grade skincare is only available through trained clinics, and we stock it at reception, with products from £36. We will suggest a simple routine for your skin, usually a cleanser, a targeted treatment and a daily SPF.
In-clinic treatments are best suited to mild acne, blackheads and congestion. If your acne is painful, cystic, widespread or leaving scars, we will recommend you see your GP, as prescription treatment may be needed. Once active breakouts have settled, microneedling and fractional CO2 laser can help improve the appearance of any scarring left behind.
What it's good for
Common questions
It depends on your skin. Hydrafacial suits congestion and blackheads and has no downtime, AlumierMD peels go further for oily, breakout-prone skin, and most people do best with treatment in clinic alongside a consistent routine at home. We recommend a plan at your consultation.
