About ultrasound cavitation
Ultrasound cavitation is a non-invasive body contouring treatment for people who have been working on their diet and exercise but still have specific areas they would like to improve. It is designed to help reduce the appearance of localised fat and improve skin texture in targeted areas.
A handheld device passes low-frequency ultrasound through the skin into the fat layer beneath. The energy heats and vibrates the fat cells, which is intended to disrupt them so that their contents can be processed and cleared by the body's lymphatic system over the following days and weeks, without damaging the surrounding tissue.
Each session lasts around 80 minutes. Most people find it comfortable, describing a warm sensation and a faint buzzing, and most people go straight back to their day afterwards. Drinking plenty of water and staying active after treatment supports the process.
A course of three sessions is recommended for the best results. Results vary from person to person and depend on lifestyle.
