About fat dissolving injections
Fat dissolving injections are a minimally invasive treatment for men and women who want to reduce small, stubborn pockets of subcutaneous fat. It is not a weight-loss treatment, but it can help with areas that do not respond to a healthy diet and regular exercise.
The solution is based on deoxycholate, a compound related to a naturally occurring bile acid, delivered in a slow-release form. Once injected it attaches to fat cells and disrupts them, and the released fatty acids are then gradually cleared by the body's lymphatic system over the following weeks.
Common treatment areas include the chin, stomach, hips, thighs, knees, buttocks and back. A session takes around 60 minutes. Some swelling, redness and tenderness in the treated area is normal for several days afterwards.
Some clients see a change after the first treatment, but most people need at least two sessions, spaced six weeks apart. Your practitioner will agree a plan with you at your initial consultation. Results are best maintained with a healthy diet and exercise.
